Chloramphenicol succinate (sodium)
Chloramphenicol succinate sodium is a proagent of Chloramphenicol, with haemotoxicity. Chloramphenicol succinate is a competitive substrate and inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) that is the possible reason for its toxicity. Chloramphenicol succinate acts as a prodr-ug, being converted to active chloramphenicol by esterases while it is circulating in the body[1][2][3].
