Amyloid beta Antibodies
Amyloid beta (Aβ) peptides correlate with the pathology of common neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimers disease (AD). Aβ1-40 is the most common form secreted from cultured cells and found in cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF). Aβ1-42 is the major component of senile plaques and considered as the most crucial factor in AD pathogenesis.
The different Aβ-peptide species result from consecutive beta- and gamma-secretase cleaveage of transmembraneous amyloid precursor preotein (APP).

Evaluation of specificity and sensitivity of mAbs in Western blot detection

|
The specificity and sensitivity of our monoclonal antibodies is clearly illustrated by the following Western blot taken from Ida et al, J Biol Chem. 1996
Each amount of synthetic Aβ 1-40 or 1-42 was separated by 10-20% Tris-Tricine SDS-PAGE, blotted onto nitrocellulose membrane, and stained with each antibody (see article for more details).
