Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnostic Tools

The accession of the Genetics Company to the field of Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and therapy was initialized in December 2002 through the acquisition of key assets from the German company CallistoGen AG of Berlin. Consequently, The Genetics Company gained small molecule hit series targeting Alzheimer’s diesease relevant beta-secretase as well as state of the art computational medicinal chemistry tools and corresponding intellectual properties. The extension of Alzheimer’s disease R&D activities at The Genetics Company was further complemented by the successful acquisition of the ABETA GmbH (Heidelberg, Germany) in May 2003. In addition to intellectual property for novel therapeutic approaches The Genetics Company aquired an innovative product line for the detection of beta-Amyloid, known as the key peptide of Alzheimer’s disease pathology. Since then we develope, produce and market high quality tools for the use in diagnosis, drug efficacy monitoring and research of Alzheimer’s disease.

Our product portfolio is continuously expanded through either in-house development or in-licensing of innovative research and diagnosis products.

We currently offer a variety of highly sensitive and specific ELISA test kits for the quantification of human Amyloid beta x-40 and x-42 peptides as well as monoclonal antibodies for the detection of various human, rodent, etc., Amyloid beta and Tau protein species. These research and diagnostic tools are in a class of their own in terms of specificity, selectivity and reliability. A view which is shared by a range of international biotech and pharmaceutical companies and internationally renowned academic laboratories who procure our antibodies and ELISA test kits on a regular basis.
